Markets!

Well I can't say enough good things about the Maribyrnong Makers Market! But here's a start.
Well organised! Gorgeous location! Friendly! Cute! Warm! Fun! Social! Pleasant! Wonderful volunteers! Fantastic stalls! Wonderful people!
PLUS a sunny warm day MINUS my children EQUALS I had a ball!

The sister outlaws were nestled in the "secret garden" with Erin from Bev and Barney who made the most gorgeous bunting and quilts and bags and Nicole from Merry Go Round Handmade who makes fantastic aprons from vintage tea towels and cards and bunting.

I also had a quick catch up with fellow jumper-felter-recycler, the ever lovely Ms. Morgan Wills from the Crafty Squirrel.
The outlaws sold many a gingerbread man, turtle dove and reindeer kit and all of my neon hexie necklaces too...and a few other things along the way...
So now I'd better get on with re-stocking because Thursday night we will be at this market - The Kris Kringle Night Markets at the Northcote Town Hall. Can't wait!

Announcing the blogtoberfest re-sew-cool giveaway winner!

Well I did this the old fashioned way – names in a hat and my five year old daughter  Wanda was the “barrel girl” and drew the winner…...and the winner is....hueisei from the Love it Sew it blog! She is a beautiful stitcher and quilter! Can’t wait to see a picture of the finished re-sew-cool gingerbread man and gingerbread house Christmas ornaments. They will be winging it all the way to Malaysia.

Yesterday I was at the Finders Keepers market at the Exhibition building – yes me and the rest of Melbourne! I helped out on the Gleaners Inc stall for the afternoon.  Markets are so fascinating. I find it endlessly interesting to people watch – babies dribbling on things unbeknownst to their mothers who are engrossed in shopping, many a bored boyfriend being dragged around and lots of mums and daughters.

I sold a few of my neon hexie necklaces ....and that gave me some pocket money....which was timely because I went out last night to see a local band, The F100’s

It’s the first time we had been out to the local pub in years! Literally!! The F100’s played some toe tapping country in the front bar. As their bio says, they draw "from the honkytonk well of Lefty Frizell, George Jones, Merle Haggard & Buck Owen's Bakersfield stylings". Perfect! Nice shirts too.

It was a late night and then we walked/stumbled home.

Needless to say I am feeling it today. Ouch!

Don't forget the Sweet by and by giveaway is still going!

Christmas craft - felt.

Here is a recycled jumper felt snowflake (hot wash a white jumper) based on the template in the last post.
After carefully cutting it out, I glued a crochet flower in the middle. Did I crochet that flower? No sirree. I chopped up a commercially made tablecloth, op shop bought of course. Last of all I added some silver ric rac as the loop for some festive sparkle. Lines of silver embroidery stitching on it would look pretty too - as would some clear buttons or beading.

For more recycled felt fun, don't forget the   re-sew-cool Christmas ornament kits. They have everything you need to make TWO ornaments - the kit contains a needle, embroidery yarn, trims, buttons and felt! Four festive designs to choose from
Santa's Reindeer

Gingerbread house           Gingerbread man

And turtledove!

Mixed bag

Blogging everyday can be hard. But here I go with Blogtoberfest Blog #10.

It's been one of those flat out days when it seems no matter how fast you go nothing gets done - probably because you're going too fast! Slow down! One thing at a time! One of those days that seems like two steps forwards and one step back then a do-si-do around the outside. One of those days when you don't get time to go to the toilet!

There's been Spring cleaning involving window washing, furniture moving, getting into those hidden dusty corners that dark old Wintry days seem to allow us to ignore. I made three dinners this morning to get a head start on the week and had the usual combination of regular housework and being interrupted to deal with the needs of the three little ones. It was kindergarten for the twins this afternoon which involved a lot of fluster and bluster to get out the door - including a last minute outfit change....for me! All that dusty cleaning had made me filthy!

With the twins taken care of, Baby Joe and I joined fellow sister outlaw Leanne at the studio for some packing.
I packed an elaborate lunchbox of snacks for Joe, some crayons, a truck, some trains and a Hairy Maclary dog. Phew! Thought that would keep him occupied. He certainly got grotty!

We packed some sugar skulls - bag tags and purses.....Halloween not far away!

And some Turtle doves.....Christmas not long after Halloween!

Then back to get the twins from kinder and home. Now time to make tortillas to go with dinner.
Thank goodness for blogtoberfest! Without it I may not have sat down!

I think maybe it is Baby Joe who is the most worn out!

Blogtoberfest catch up!

Because I'm ALREADY BEHIND on day 3 of blogtoberfest (yeah! Can you believe it?) I'm doing an extra post today to make up for it.

I've just been at the sister outlaw studio space packing....wait for it....CHRISTMAS KITS!

Today we packed reindeer kits in wonderful colours - green, red, gold, purple and blue. And of course the touch of silver ric rac which all the re-sew-cool christmas kits have.

My two year old son Joe, likes to be lulled to sleep every night with talk about Christmas. His Dad has to tell him about the tinsel, the colours, the lights and the treats for Santa. With the anticipation starting already, we can imagine he will be very excited when it is eventually really December 24!
