It is full of 80's design gems celebrating Australian-ness.
Like these Jenny Kee geometric "Oz" maps for father and daughters...that's right,"Oz".
The poor girl can't even bear to look!
But wait! There's more! And yep! That's a knitted"Norm" from the "Life Be In It" campaign...
And here's the not so Jolly Swagman....
Just what every kid wants on his jumper- a creepy old man! And then there is more maps on your accessories...
And I don't even have words to describe this one...

Happy to scan any of these pattern is anyone wants to indulge their nostalgic knitting nationalism.
Wow. Those are some interesting patterns. Unfortunately, I don't knit. I'll bet that Wildflower dress was interesting. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteWhat an excellent find. It truly was a strange era. The models are all looking wonderfully serious considering their highly amusing garments. Somehow makes it even better.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was a child in the early 80s I had a hand knitted jumper featuring fenced paddocks, gum trees, sheep and a kangaroo. I am sure I never looked quite as serious as these models when wearing it.
Wow, that era takes me back.... The Vegimite blanket made me smile :O)
ReplyDeleteOh dear. The fact that they all look pretty depressed about having to wear those things is telling. But I reckon it's GOLD! Thanks for sharing, Julianne. :-)
