Dear Resin,
It’s time we parted ways. We are just not suited. You
require too much patience and waiting and too much precision. I’m a fun loving
crafter!
I know, our future seemed to hold promise! I had many ideas
of embedding you in all sorts of ways! I tried lace! Tapestry! Even film!
You
were a mystery I tried to navigate but, I think you will agree, all our experiences
have simply been one craftastrophe after another.
I think I prefer you in fluid
form. After a a day you become inflexible – but then sometimes you stay all
sticky for days. It wasn’t that you remain rough around the edges (although it
is annoying) it was more that even when you are done, you are very light
weight and full of air. Hardly anything to you. No substance
I know I could find other ways to encase and embrace you.
Try different formulas and mixes. Pursue our future with more commitment and
tenacity. But you know that old Porter Wagoner/Dolly Parton duet keeps ringing
in my ears. "We’re holding on with nothing left to hold on to.”
So thanks for the memories and stay in touch. I will
continue to follow the excellent blog about you.
Who knows...down the track we can try something else. But
for now, goodbye resin. Go find others who are more suited to your temperament
and are better skilled to bring out your charms.
Oh, I wish it could have worked out between the two of you, but alas, some things are just not meant to be. You might enjoy this - I think this guy and resin were made for each other (the video is at the end of the post at this link) - http://kirstenalexander.com/2012/02/21/the-waiting-game/
ReplyDeleteWow! That just makes me even more glad to be giving resin the flick - it gets much better love elsewhere!
