There's a world in my shoes...

There is a whole world in the heel of my shoe...
 A boy on a water buffalo...what is his name? Where is he going?
Away from a hut and the trees to the waves...
These carved shoes were often brought home by soldiers who served in the South Pacific in the Second World War. They were often TINY and therefore, never worn. This pair of vintage  are adorning my Summer feet. I love carrying a world in each heel as I walk.

    Ohhh, absolutely love these. How did that song go? 'She has the whole world in her feet'... something like that.

      I do feel like I'm carrying around some miniature world Saskia. They are beautifully carved.
