Duck!

My funny flying duck.

Yes, I stole the kids geometric blocks. Yes I stole them and stuck fabric on them. Shhh!! They'll never know....

We were playing with them one day and I was thinking about Liz's invitation to be part of the Flight of Ducks exhibition. Desperately trying to think of something to make that was not too labour intensive to craft, I played about with the blocks and came up with the shape.

Then I was inspired by Hilachas over in Texas and her patchwork prowess so I decided to cover each piece with fabric. After that it was just a matter of sticking the whole arrangement onto a canvas for display. I would have liked it to be a free flying duck on wood but my jigsaw cutting skills are not up to the task.It was good fun! Thanks Liz for the challenge and the creative push along!

  1. Haha, such cute ducks. This one even looks like a "Southwest USA Duck" what with the turquoise and pink colors and the lJittle jaggedly wings. I checked the "Flight of Ducks Gallery" and I want to be there. Sounds like so much fun.

  4. Thanks everyone! I'm so please that Hilachas describes it as southwestern! Just what I was going for! The kids do seem to have noticed there are not as many blocks in the container! Oops! Santa might have to get some replacements!
